F.A.Q.
Q: When do you buy books?
A: We buy books seven days a week, during shop opening hours. If you have a large amount of books you wish to sell, please telephone us beforehand so that we can prepare. We aim to look at your books as quickly as possible, and we pay cash or offer store credit immediately.
Q: What type of books do you buy?
A: We will consider all types of books -- fiction and non-fiction, hardbacks and paperbacks – though we cannot guarantee to take them all. We offer top prices on what we can sell. If you are in doubt to what types of books we buy, please ask.
Q: Is there a limit to the amount of books you buy?
A: No. We buy single volumes and entire libraries.
Q: What prices do you pay for books? What are my books worth?
A: We evaluate each book on an individual basis and are unable to quote prices without seeing them first.
Q: Do I get more money if I take store credit?
A: Yes. We offer you a better rate if you take store credit. You can spend the credit anywhere in the store -- including new books – and at any time – the credit never expires.
Q: Can I sell back books I've already bought from the secondhand department?
A: Yes, and if you trade in books purchased from the secondhand department, we offer half the price you paid, providing we are able to accept them back.
Q: Do you buy or sell school textbooks?
A: No. We do not currently buy or sell primary or secondary schooltextbooks, but you may find some novels and dictionaries that may be used in schools in stock. We only sell college textbooks.
Q: Do you have an Irish section?
A: Yes. Our Irish interest section includes fiction, history, biography, poetry, drama and gift books.
Q: Do you have a catalogue of your stock?
A: No, not at present. If there is a particular book you are looking for, please do not hesitate to ask and we will help you find it.
Q: Can you order a book secondhand?
A: We do not offer an out-of-print book service at present, but if there is a particular title you are after, we can keep your details on file and contact you should it come into stock. We keep requests on record for approximately six months.
Q: Do you buy or sell videos, cds, dvds or 'Blu-Ray' discs?
A: We have a wide range of new and secondhand cds and dvds, and we buy and sell Blu-Ray discs secondhand. We buy all these formats provided they are in good condition. We do not buy VHS cassettes.
